Michael Alles

Mike and his fiancée Alexandra became residents of South Kensington in November of 2013, and immediately fell in love with the neighborhood. Mike has been living in Philadelphia for about 8 years, working in the Fishtown / Kensington area for the last 5. He has recently become a business loan officer at FINANTA, a community development financial institution whose goal is to provide individuals and small business owners increased access to capital.


Corey Bell

Originally from North Carolina, Corey moved to Philadelphia after completing a graduate program in city and regional planning. He has been a member of the South Kensington NAS for the last two years. Corey strives to use his knowledge of planning and local business to continuously improve the South Kensington neighborhood. Corey currently serves as the Co-chair to the NAS and as the SKCP Board Liaison.



Amelia Breslin

Amelia lives in South Kensington and is the owner of Poochie’s Place at 4th and Girard Ave.  Amelia has interest in improving community networking between businesses and residents. She also hopes to help bring improvements to areas such as sidewalks and more green space.



Marilyn Cruz 

Marilyn is a long time resident of South Kensington with roots in the community for generations. She is a real estate agent and manager of properties such as the Coral Arts House. She currently serves as the Treasure for the South Kensington Community Partners Board and is active in Finquita and Cadwallader Green community gardens. 
 

Jen Galbreath

Jen moved to Philadelphia from Seattle in 2011 and have lived in South Kensington since early 2012. Jen and her partner own a home in the neighborhood and love the area. Jen is excited to be involved with the NAS  to help plan community events and be an advocate for South Kensington. 


 

Neil Goldman

Neil has a focus on sustainability at the local level. He has been a volunteer for the Philadelphia Chapter of Habitat and Humanity, working on the Weatherization and Critical repair committee. He brings a desire to address greening, clean streets, and crime watch to the NAS. 


 

Sonia Medina

Sonia relocated to Philadelphia, shortly after moving from Puerto Rico.  After graduating high school she left the area to explore a military life with her spouse.   Upon returning to the East Coast, she landed the opportunity to work and study at Temple University, where it afforded her and her family the opportunity to obtain a higher education and settle in South Kensington. She feels strongly about continuous improvement and support of our neighborhood and those in need.
 

Jessica Noon 

Jessica Noon was elected to the Neighborhood Advisory Sub-committee in 2012 and currently serves as Co-Chair and as a liaison to the SKCP board. Jessica helps coordinate greening and fundraising activities at La Finquita and is a Friend of  Benson Park. Jessica is the manager of Green Infrastructure Partnerships for the Philadelphia Water Department. She  has lived in the South Kensington NAC service district since 2011, prior to which she spent time working and studying in a variety of east coast cities, Ecuador and Costa Rica, before returning to PA.

Peggy Laramee

Peggy has been a long time resident of Philadelphia living in University City, Hunting Park, and Olney before moving with her husband to South Kensington in June of 2014. Peggy worked in the Philadelphia School District as an elementary teacher, including Moffet Elementary, before retiring in 2012. Peggy has devoted much of her time to volunteering and has a strong interest in ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic and generational diversity.
 

Nicole LaGreca 

Nicole is a native Philadelphian. She has been an active member of the NAS for four years and servers as the Secretary for the South Kensington Community Partners Board. She is active in greening, our neighborhood clean ups and is a member of Tillmon Community Garden.
 

Terrie Lewine

Born and bred a Philly girl.  Terrie has lived in many neighborhoods and brought her home in South Kensington in October 2013.  She is super excited to settle in this neighborhood.  Her interests in serving are mainly focused on building community, safety and sustainability infrastructure (greening the hood).

 

Josephine “Cookie” Quinones 

Cookie is a long time member of the NAS and an active Friend of Benson Park. A long time community resident, she has focused on building strong community relations and greening the neighborhood. Cookie currently works with at-risk youth. 


 

Kevin Rodricks 

Kevin and his wife moved to South Kensington because they could see the great potential of the neighborhood. Kevin is a former science teacher with a strong interest in the educational needs and wants of the South Kensington Community. He hopes to work with the local community organizations to help develop an educational series tailored towards the neighborhood. He also hopes to help engage more of his neighbors to help make South Kensington a stronger neighborhood.

Howie Ross 

Howie has been living and working in Philadelphia for over ten years and in South Kensington for over five. He has helped plan several events including the community meeting covering volunteering opportunities in the community and the Fall Neighborhood Cleanup in October. He is a gardener for the Growers Alliance at La Finquita, and the coordinator of the new community garden Cadwallader Green. He is also on the board of the Philadelphia Awesome Foundation which awards a $1000 grant to something awesome in Philly each month.
