About the Gardens
Over the past several years, SKCP has worked to strengthen and revitalize the community and private gardens within our borders, while ensuring that the garden spaces and programs are inclusive of, and benefit, all neighbors. SKCP currently supports three gardens in the South Kensington neighborhood:
Cohocksink Community Garden
1445 N 4th Street
3,008 sq. ft
Cohocksink Garden is a community garden that grows organic produce for and by local residents of Kensington and Fishtown. Cohocksink is a City Harvest partner supported by PHS. A percentage of the garden's produce is donated to a local Kensington food cupboard, Take A Sistah To Lunch.

Tillmon Community Garden
438 W Master Street
2270 sq. ft
Tillmon Community Garden was originally created as part of WCRP's Tillmon Houses, low-income housing for women and their families. The garden has a core group of committed volunteers, and holds regular work days for members of the community. Recently, they've made great additions to the garden like an eco-friendly pallet wall!
La Finquita Urban Farm & Community Garden
428 W Master Street
15,759 sq. ft
La Finquita (the Little Farm) has existed on owner-abandoned vacant land on the corner of Master and Lawrence Streets in South Kensington for over 25 years. Recently, new members have harmoniously combined their energies with old-timers’ devotion. The result has been an impressive cross-generational and cross-cultural revitalization of the garden. Don't miss The Little Farm Stand, operating weekly on Sundays from May-November!
Cadwallader Green Garden
Jefferson St. & Cadwallader St.
Cadwallader Green is a new garden project in progress! Functionally an offshoot of the La Finquita urban farm, Cadwallder Green will serve as a new green space for neighbors to engage in. Keep an eye out for more updates coming soon!
